We’ve just heard that Max von Sydow is set to appear in the next season of Game of Thrones as Three-Eyed-Raven.
The famous veteran actor who has appeared in many iconic movies such as The Exorcist and soon-to-come Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens is taking over this role from Struan Rodger who appeared as the character in Season Four. The Three-Eyed-Raven is a teacher of Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), who is teaching the young lord about the supernatural gifts such as warging (an ability to transfer his consciousness to other living things) for example.
According to the reports, von Sydow is not expected to make many appearances, but he will be a major force in the narrative of Season Six. Another new member of cast is Ian McShane from HBO’s Deadwood but there’s no news on what role he will be playing as in Season Six.
Many book readers are still wondering when George R.R Martin will finish this but the President of HBO Programming, Micheal Lombardo told the reporters that there’s a tentative eight season run in the current plan during the summer press tour at Television Critics Association few weeks ago.
We are still holding our collective breath if Jon Snow really ended his watch too.
