Ever heard of Build-a-Bear Workshop? That chain store allowing you to customise your own teddy bears with various outfits and such? Now they’ve gone all otaku on us by offering Pokemon fans a chance to customise their very own plush Pikachu.
The pre-order for the Pikachu plush recently opened up and customers who order it should be getting their orders delivered by late December, likely around Christmas or after. Like their standard Build-a-Bear, customers will be able to dress Pikachu up in a variety of outfits including stuff from Star Wars, Despicable Me, Avengers, My Little Pony and a whole lot more.
On top of the usual dress-up/customisation options, there are also some Pokemon exclusives including a web-only package that goes for US$60. What you get should you choose this package includes; a 15-inch Pikachu plus, a Pokeball hoodie, a web exclusive Charizard hoodie, a web exclusive 6-in-one sound chip embedded into the plush, and a Build-A-Bear Workshop exclusive Pokémon TCG Card. That’s quite a bit of stuff but do note that the US$60 does not include delivery charge, which, when we checked amount up to around US$40 if it was to be delivered to Malaysia.
Of course the other option is to find the nearest Build-a-Bear Workshop. Fortunately (or unfortunately) our neighbours down south in Singapore, has a couple of outlets and we’re in the midst of checking with them if they’re bringing in the Pikachus, so stay tuned for more info.
