
Gust, the game developer of Atelier series, has announced the release of the new Atelier chapter in Japan – Atelier Sophie. The full title of the game is Atelier Sophie: Fushigi na Hon no Renkin Jutsushi/ソフィーのアトリエ 不思議な本の錬金術士. The last iteration of Atelier title is Atelier Rorona that was relaunched for the 3DS in Japan recently.

The game is not a reboot but a totally new title. It is a known fact that two artists are working on the game.
According to the official synopsis of the game, the game’s main character name is Sophie Noienmuller, designed by artist Noco and voiced by voice actress Yuka Iguchi. She is described as a girl who loves alchemy and runs an atelier studio located at the edge of the town, which is a recurring theme in the Atelier series.
Another character is Prafta, designed by Yuugen and voiced by the same VA as Sophie. She suffers amnesia, has silver coloured hair and player(s) can customize her appearance with cute costumes via a “material synthesizer.”
The game is set to be available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in 25 September 2015. It will cost 6800 Yen/US$55 for the standard edition, 6000 Yen/ US$48 for digital copy and 9800 Yen/ US$79 for premium version on PS3 and PS4 platforms. Whereas on the PS Vita, it will cost 5800/US$47 Yen for standard edition, 5143 Yen/US$41 for digital copy and 8800 Yen/US$71 for Premium Pack.
The Premium Pack consists of a visual book, soundtrack archives CD, special B3 sized poster, a character clear marker set and five downloadable content sets.
