4. The end of Fables
Ok, this is not exactly something we’re looking forward to, but considering that Fables has been around for 13 years, it should be interesting to see how writer Bill Willingham manages to give his long running series a happy ending.
After holding the fort at Vertigo Comics for more than a decade as one of its most consistent best sellers, Willingham and artist Mark Buckingham will be wrapping up the series with issue #150, which should be out in either March or April.
A bunch of other titles will also be ending this year, including not one, not two, but THREE Green Lantern titles – Green Lantern Corps, Red Lanterns and Green Lantern: New Guardians. Other DC titles that have been cancelled include Batwoman, Swamp Thing, Worlds’ Finest, Trinity of Sin, and a few others.
Over at Marvel, Mark Waid and Chis Samnee will be ending their stellar run on Daredevil this year, while Matt Fraction and David Aja will also be ending their award-winning run on the Hawkeye solo book.
