We finally have some new material on the last two movies of the Divergent series, which were initially named Allegiant Part I and II but have been renamed by Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment.
Now the movies are known as The Divergent Series: Allegiant and The Divergant Series: Ascendant with associated taglines of “Break the Boundaries of Your World” for the former and the later movie sporting a rather ominous “The End is Never What You Expect.” Now let’s check out their new posters here:
Tris, who is played by Shailene Woodley (The Fault in Our Stars) will be back with Theo James (Insurgent) as Four, Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars) as Caleb, Miles Teller (Whiplash, Fant4stic Four), Zoe Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road) , Maggie Q (Divergent) and Naomi Watts (King Kong). The director of Red and R.I.P.D, Robert Schwentke is set to direct the final two movies.
The filming of Allegiant started in 18 May 2015 and wrapped up on 23 August 2015. So far, the reception of the franchise is quite modest with US$583 million collected in the boxoffice worldwide for both movies.
Allegiant is set for 18 March 2016 whereas the Ascendant will round up the story on 24 March 2017.
