Legacy of the Void, the 3rd and final chapter of Starcraft II is set for launch on 10 November 2015 according to Blizzard.
The game company announced the development during the finals of Starcraft World Championship series. This particular chapter will look into the Protoss, completing the factional perspectives trilogy within the game story. Hearts of Liberty focused on the struggle of the Terran faction whereas Heart of the Swarm tells the story of Kerrigan and the Zerg. The main meat of Legacy of the Void is the Protoss attempting to reclaim their homeworld Aiur from their mortal enemy, the Zerg.
Legacy of the Void was made available as a closed beta at the end of March this year. Players discovered new units that will be fighting for the three races with the expansion. Then during E3 2015, fans found out that a three mission prologue titled “Whispers of Oblivion” will serve as the connection between Legacy and Heart of the Swarm.
The final chapter will set for its closing act on Windows and MacOS. On the side note, it is notable that Blizzard chose to compete against two major game franchise since the other two also have the similar release date – Fallout 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider.
It would be an interesting to see how these competition plays out.
