Yes, you heard that right. Sony has just announced a price reduction for the PlayStation 4 in the region following price cuts in Japan. The console will be getting a RM200 price cut starting 1 October 2015 in light of a new 1TB storage version being released.
The new price of the PlayStation 4 will be RM 1,599 starting October and other countries are getting a similar discount. Aside from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines will get to enjoy a slightly cheaper PS4.
As for the new 1TB PS4, it will be retailing for RM 1,799 and will be available at the end of October this year.
On top of that, Sony has announced new colour options for the PS Vita, Dual Shock 4 controller as well as the PS4 HDD cover. The four new colour variants for the controller will be Silver, Gold, Crystal and Steel Black. Further adding to the rainbow array of, the PS Vita will also get three new colours; Aqua Blue, Glacier White and Neon Orange.
However it is interesting to note that the pricing on Sony Malaysia’s online store is a fair bit lower than shown here, going for RM 1,549 in their move to clear older stock while waiting for the new stock. The new pricing will take effect in October.
