If you’ve ever wanted to own one of Razer’s Blackwidow keyboards but couldn’t dish out the cash for it, they’ve now made a more budget version available called the Razer BlackWidow X.
A bit more minimalist than its full-fledged siblings in the BlackWidow line of keyboards, the Blackwidow X is a mechanical keyboard that sports slightly lower cost Cherry mechanical switches and the removal of the protective top cover. Instead you’ll be getting a military-grade metal top plate (which incidentally is in all BlackWidow keyboards) and a minimalist design.
“The Razer BlackWidow X builds on our massive success with gaming keyboards and broadens the choice of keyboard design for gamers,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “By removing the protective top cover and exposing the inner metal top chassis of the current BlackWidow, I’m pleased that we’re able to establish a new low price point for a premium, metal-chassis, mechanical keyboard with the new BlackWidow X.”
However, they’re not skimping on the stuff that already makes the BlackWidow series awesome, with the BlackWidow X also sporting Chroma technology for lighting effects.
The Razer BlackWidow X line of keyboards starts at RM 429 and you can check out the whole range here.
