The newest game from the creator of classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus will be released this year for PS4.
In development for over 7 years, The Last Guardian is the long awaited follow up to the PS2 classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, both of which regularly land on ‘greatest of all time’ lists. It’s understandable that gamers would be frothing at the mouth for the release of Ueda’s third title.
To tide you over until the release later this year, here is a video where Ueda discusses the character design and animation of Trico, which looks like a cross between a cat and a gryphon, but looking almost like nothing else.
Ueda discusses how they used animation techniques and sound to express emotion and life in Trico, who is the creature that the main character (a nameless boy) must befriend and bond with over the course of The Last Guardian.
