Zootopia directors have hinted that Judy and Nick might just be more than friends, and if they’re hitting off that Zootopia sequel, its an issue they’re going to have to address.

The news came via an interview with MTV, with directors Byron Howard and Rich Moore talking about a possible sequel. Given its success, we won’t be surprised if Disney would want a sequel. On top of that, fans are quite literally dying to find out if Nick and Judy would actually become a couple given the open-ended statement made by Judy at the end of the movie.

However, the directors revealed that they intentionally left it ambiguous.

“At the very end of the movie, it does feel like there could be a little bit more, but never did I think that it would turn into the shipping that it’s become. It’s so weird because half the fans are like, ‘We love WildeHopps, and they need to get together and get married,’ and then there’s this other side that’s like, ‘No! They should not get together. Do male and female characters always have to get together at the end of every movie? Can’t they just stay best friends?’”

They also had to cut out a fair bit of scenes out from the film to make it fit into 108 minutes, so there’s lots more to be explored with Zootopia.

What do you think will be in the Zootopia sequel? do you support WildeHopps? let us know in the comments!
