Looks like nothing is safe from getting the movie treatment these days, and Minecraft will soon be joining the whole lot.
Minecraft is one of the world’s most downloaded mobile app and PC game in history; with the boxy 3D game inspiring millions to explore and create within its sandbox world.
The movie is being directed by Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) co-creator and star while the movie is being released by Warner Bros. Maybe he really likes Minecraft? (we know we do!)
We don’t really know how the story is going to be like; but Telltale‘s Minecraft:Story Mode games might be a hint in the direction where this might go? we honestly have no idea.
Slated for a 25 May 2019 release, the Minecraft movie will be riding against Avengers Infinity War: Part Two and Star Wars: Episode IX which is set to open the same month.
