Paramount Pictures has just announced that there will be a fourth Star Trek feature starring the current crew of the Enterprise.
The movie will be made in conjunction with Skydance and Bad Robot; with Chris Hemsworth to reprise the role of George Kirk.
“In the next installment of the epic space adventure, Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk will cross paths with a man he never had a chance to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born: his father.”
The rest of the cast will be making a return too; with the exception of Chekov as portrayed by the late Anton Yelchin over the last three films.
The screenplay will be written by J.D Payle and Patrick McKay with J.J Abrams and Lindsey Weber to produce through Bad Robot Productions. David Ellison and Dana Goldberg (Skydance) will executive produce.
There isn’t much else known about the film for now, but they’ll be cropping up with more story and potential release dates soon enough.
