Blizzard is going to be re-releasing StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War in HD, with plans to make the original StarCraft available as a free download.

The remakes will be called StarCraft: Remastered, and will be updated to support 4K UHD resolution. The package will also include the game’s original soundtrack and re-recorded dialogue, with revamped mission briefings too.

StarCraft: Remastered will also feature “advanced matchmaking; full connectivity to Blizzard’s gaming network for social features and updates; cloud saving for campaign progress, custom maps, replays, and keybinds” and support for 13 languages.

On top of the remaster, Blizzard will also be making the original StarCraft available as a free download later this week.
