Flexible displays may be things for the future, but as LG has shown, the future is very near. LG showcased its 18-inch flexible OLED panel last week, and the thing doesn’t just flex and bend, it can roll, too.
The display experts showed what a real ‘flexible’ display means by rolling up the 18-incher into a tube of just 3cm in diameter. Call it crazy, but true collapsible digital books, newspapers and sci-fi-type flexible screens really aren’t too far away from reality.
LG Display claims the same manufacturing processes can be used to create up to 50-inch rollable panels. We don’t doubt them one bit.
