HTC has just launched their latest flagship smartphone locally alongside their more budget HTC Desire 826 offering.
The HTC One M9+looks like a carbon copy of the One M9 but it does get a tiny bump up in terms of the screen size as well as the added bonus of a fingerprint scanner.
Inside, you will find very similar innards to the One M9 with the only difference being it’s processor. One M9+ will have a octa-core MediaTek helio X10 processor at 2.2Ghz, a 2,840mAh battery as well as a 20 megapixel f/2.2 Duo main camera and UltraPixel front shooter with a built in sapphire glass lens cover to prevent scratches. The One M9+ will be running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with HTC Sense on top.
On top of this, the phone will be sporting 3GB RAM and 32GB on-board storage withexpandable memory of up to 2TB with claims from HTC that the phone is future proof in terms of storage. As far as the screen is concerned, the One M9+ has a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 at 564ppi and an aspect ratio of 16:9.
TheDesire 826 is the mid-range successor to the Desire 820 and features a 5.5-inch Full HD display as well as a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor mated to 2GB RAM alongside 16GB expandable storage.
There will also be 4G LTE support and dual-SIM capabilities. On top of that, the Desire 826 possesses a 13 megapixel f/2.0 camera and a 4 megapixel UltraPixel snapper up front. As far as specs go, the Desire 826 is quite similar to Xiaomi’s recently launched Mi 4i smartphone.
The HTC One M9+ will retail for RM 2,599 and will come in three colours, with Gold on Silver and Gunmetal Gray available from April 30th , with the Gold on Gold variant available later this year. Meanwhile the HTC Desire 826 will retail for RM1,359 and it is also available on April 30th. All prices listed are inclusive of GST.
