EA Games is in the process of rebooting Need For Speed, coming out with a new trailer not too long ago.
According to the publisher, the game is set to burn rubber coming Fall 2015. Coming with full speed in PC, Xbox One and PS4, EA Games promises, “ an action driving experience that unites the culture of speed.”
Among the new features added to the game is extensive “deep” customization, authentic urban car culture, an immersive narrative and perhaps the biggest one – an open nocturnal world. Ghost Games studio the developer of the game is insisting that this game is not a sequel, it is a complete reboot of the franchise. Many fans are hoping this game will revive the nostalgic memories had since NFS : Underground 2.
Ghost Games took a year to realize this game so fans will get “the game we’ve always wanted.” This is after a few games where players have been dropping comments that the team received, which prompted their admission that they actually needed a step back to re-evaluate what kind of racing game is NFS.
“Need for Speed is one of the most iconic names in gaming, and we’re returning it to greatness in this reboot. Pulling on our 20 years of history, and then taking a year out from releasing a game, we are making the game we’ve always wanted to. We’re listening to the fans and delivering an experience that will capture their imagination and unleash their passion for cars and speed.” said Marcus Nilsson, the executive producer at Ghost Games.
So far, we have spotted a Ford Mustang (American muscle), Porsche 911 (European beauty) and Nissan 180SX (Japanese speed) in the trailer. This is to reflect the global variation of car culture. Also, the trailer is focusing on the open nocturnal world that players can zip around in his/her favourite ride.
Since E3 is around the corner, so expect EA Games will furnish more details on the rebooted car racing classic in near future.
