Just this year, they gave us the mouth-watering HTC One (M8), which we reckon is one of the flagship Android’s to beat in 2014 and now HTC has rolled out another one. This time a curvier, more affordable HTC One (E8) with new materials and funky, vibrant colours.
Gone is the metallic unibody and in turn replaced by a light, robust polycarbonate unibody in a vibrant range of colours. One’s gotta have colour! The dual curve design houses the 5-inch full HD borderless display.
You know the features that people have come to love about the flagship M8? Well, the E8 has pretty much all of them. From the snappiest of snappy Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM, to dual front-facing speakers with HTC BoomSound (shake shake shake the room), 16GB of storage, a huge 2,600mAh battery and Cat 4 LTE. And if you outgrow storage with offline tracks from Spotify, then you can add more via microSD.
In place of the 4MP Duo Camera in the M8, a 13MP rear shooter with BSI and f/2.2 lens takes its place. Compulsive selfie takers should love the super sharp 5MP front-facing cam, too.
Wait, there’s more. It also has all the other bells and whistles a flagship should have (only it’s not a flagship – WIN!) – NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, DLNA, micro-USB, 3.5mm mic jack. Phew.
Right, so we know HTC hasn’t skimped on the E8 and it’s got some fancy hardware. You just can’t beat the HTC DotView case though. The cool retro case made its debut with the flagship M8 and now surprisingly is available for the E8 as well. HTC, we love you more. Notifications never looked this cool.
Also, the E8 runs the latest and greatest Android 4.4 KitKat release.
For a start, the HTC One E8 will be offered in Polar White and Misty Gray, with the Electric Crimson coming in October. Price of the new premium mid-ranger? RM1,699.00.
