A short blurb from the 39th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump announces that an anime special of Shokugeki no Souma/食戟のソーマ will be shown during the Jump Festa/ ジャンプフェスタ(Janpu Fesuta) tour in Japan this year.
The Jump Festa is a tour event that takes place in several cities annually and for this year, it is to be held in nine cities across Japan. The event is mainly to promote anime adapted from serialized manga in Jump weekly tankubons and sometimes held screenings of special episode for the fans. The event is sponsored by Shuiesha, owner of Weekly Shonen Jump.
Shokugeki no Souma is an ongoing series produced by J.C. Staff which started last season. It is serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2012 by writers Yuki Morisaki and Yuuto Tsukuda with illustrations by Shun Saeki. The series gain massive popularity thanks to the weird combination of cooking, shonen angst, hot-blooded scenes and ecchi.
This particular anime series is expected to whip up its last meal in September 2015.
