Earlier this year we reported that after a long three year absence the Video Games Live concert was finally making its way back to our shores.
For the uninitiated, Video Games Live! is essentially a live orchestra performance of some of the world’s most iconic video game music, ranging from classics from the Final Fantasy series to newer tunes from the Skyrim, Dota 2 and World of Warcraft franchises accompanied by video footage with synchronized lighting and effects, sometimes even featuring guest performers from around the globe.
The organisers are promising an entire new show this time around so we don’t quite know what to expect but we are excited.
The previously leaked concert date has been confirmed, with the concert to be held on 29 August 2015 at the Putra Indoor Stadium starting at 8PM for a one night only show. Tickets start at RM 98 all the way to RM 580 to get up close and personal with the stage. The full list of pricing (not inclusive of 6% GST) can be viewed here and seating can be viewed in the image below.
Of course there will be additional activities like a Guitar Hero competition an hour ahead of the concert where the winner will get to play on stage with the Symphony and of course, the on stage costume contest. As icing on the cake, ticket holders can join a meet and greet come signing session with the stars behind Video Games Live after the concert concludes.
Tickets can be purchased from 11Pass11 starting 15 June which is about two weeks away. As a bonus, concert goes can toss in an additional RM 50 to gain entry into the VGL After Party at The Roof at 1 Utama for drinks and live performances from VGL’s opening act. Bulk ticket purchases will get discounted rates so if you’re planning on going, rope in your friends!
For those who want the VIP treatment, there’s a separate package for RM380 that can be purchased here that entitles you to a pre-show production tour, meet and greet with VGL creator Tommy Tallarico and other goodies which includes a free download for the Video Games Live: Level 3 album as well as a front of line access to the post-show meet and greet session.
