Square Enix shows off a new video footage for the Final Fantasy XV during Gamescom 2015.

From what we can see, there is a new female character (who is not Lunafreya) in a perilous situation. Then next, we are treated to a tender scene of father and son with sorrowful music in the background. Fans say this is King Regis and his son, Noctis who is still a child in this video. The sad looking King Regis is comforting his son, as if he is waiting for eventual doom.

Then, a looming shadow is all over them, it might seems like Archeans or Titans is manifesting it. Pundits also point out that the technology level seems archaic – fully plated armoured medieval knights carrying assault rifle patroling the streets full of cars hailing from the 50s.

It could be that the Kingdom of Lucis is based on magic more than its rival, Niflheim. The latter nation is powered by industry and factory, creating a juxtaposition of technology between nations which might lead to conflict between two. The official synopsis of the Dawn trailer by Square Enix:

In a matter of days, the Kingdom of Lucis is to sign an armistice, ending a long and bitter conflict with Niflheim.

Ahead of the ceremony, Prince Noctis, heir to the Lucian throne, sets forth from his homeland to formalize the union of states through his marriage to the lady Lunafreya of the imperial province of Tenebrae.

The offer of peace, however, is no more than a ruse to lower the Lucian shield.

The imperial city takes the crown city and its sacred crystal in one fell swoop. En route to his destination, Noctis is shocked to learn the he, his father the king, and his betrothed are believed dead.

Overnight, the dream of peace has faded into a distant memory. His world crumbling around him, Noctis has naught but his resolve and his loyal companions to see him through the trials to come.”

So far, no date of release is given so we can only speculate it will be in the market next year earliest.
