The improvisational inventor is coming to CBS’s fall line up, and the new trailer promises lots of whiz-bang and cool creativity.

Based on the 80s TV series of the same name, the original featured Richard Dean Anderson as a government agent who gets out of tight spots using common everyday objects and his scientific know-how.

Nearly a quarter century after the show went off the air, CBS has decided to reboot MacGyver, played by X-Men’s Lucas Till as a smirking and confident troubleshooter. He is recruited after escaping from terrorists by Michelle Krusiec (Hawaii Five-O) of Homeland Security, alongside longtime CSI star George Eads.

The trailer is tipped with modern sensibility, including Inception BWAAH horns and an updated plot which includes an anti-terror task force. The show seems to keep true to the original, including a scene where a suspect’s fingerprints are lifted from his belongings, and a scene ‘Bubblegum or a Q-tip’ can be leveraged to solve problems.
