The manga series will fight in the stars again on 8 October 2015 with Ryuu Fujisaki (Houshin Engi) as the new mangaka of the reboot series. This is after the conclusion of the old manga series by Katsumi Michihara back in 2000. The new work promises a “new perspective of Yoshiki Tanaka[s] work” and Fujisaki-san provided his own interpretation of Reinhard von Lohengramm, one of the main characters of the story above.

The old manga serialization achieved 15 million copies in circulation. Considered as one of the greatest sci-fi anime ever made, the series began as series of light novels published between 1982-1989 which saw a 110 episode OVA adaptation, followed by a 52 episode side story and four full length movies. Legend of Galactic Heroes even received a musical play a few years ago in Japan.

Curiously, the series is a huge hit for older female audience (josei) too.
