outlast 2

Outlast, Red Barrels Games’s extremely popular survival horror game is officially getting a sequel, with the game slated for a 2016 release on multiple platforms.

This is after teasing that they were in fact working on a sequel not too long back, promising more jumpscares but not showing any of the game’s meat.

While the mass majority of details aren’t really out yet, they’ve released a teaser on Youtube, which you can catch below.

With an interview with studio founder Phillippe Morin, he said that gamers are going to suffer. For one the game won’t be heading back to the asylum, but the night-vision camera mechanic will be making a comeback.

“Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith. Outlast 2 will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do.”

Outlast 2 will be released fall 2016, and will be hitting the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4. Maybe just in time for Halloween?
