Last weekend, we saw the Pokemon Sun and Moon Launch Party at KDU College Damansara and man, what a turnout.
Being one of the biggest officially supported (by Nintendo no less) launch party for a Pokemon title, the Sun and Moon launch had a huge turnout of people not just here to buy the game but to take part in the lineup of activities over the two days.
There were card games to be had, delicious food vendors and the chance to bring home some rad official Pokemon merch, by collecting points around the event. For the more competitive sort, there was the TCG events as well as Pokken Tournament or the Nuzlocke challenge. Not for newbies!
There were even guests and fans dressed up like Pokemon trainers. Truly, there are few fandoms quite like the Pokemon fandom.
Pikachu himself made an appearance too!
And if you didn’t quite collect Pokemon on your 3DS, there was Pokemon Tretta, a battling and collecting arcade game that actually dispenses chips of Pokemon you’ve caught.
Last but not least, were vendor booths which you could purchase a variety of Pokemon related loot, books and other assorted goodies, including cosplay stuff!
