The script for the next Predator sequel has been confirmed, which means Predator 4 could very well be on its way over the next few years.
Director Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) is working on a new Predator film that’s set to reinvent the franchise for 20th Century Fox. The film will be following Predator, Predator 2 and Predators (2010) and will attempt to once again refresh the franchise, especially after the lukewarm reception from the last movie.
Fred Dekker (Monster Squad) will be co-writing the screenplay and announced recently that the script was completed and sent in to the studio.
Perhaps the movie will be from the perspective from the Predator this time? we’re not sure just yet. However, producer John Davis says that we’re in for a different sort of ride:
“The writing is so fresh, the perspective is so fresh. I’m telling you you’re going to get something you don’t expect and you’re going to say, ‘This is the most entertaining way to reinvent a franchise.’”
No release date has been confirmed yet for Predator 4 but it would only be a matter of time before they do. Till then, sit tight because chances are we might only see the movie in either 2017 or 2018 at the very soonest. And hope that they don’t decide to make any more Aliens vs. Predator movies.
