The November issue of Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Forward announced last week that the author behind Psycho-Pass has a new manga on the way.
Makoto Fukami, known for Psycho-Pass and Magical Girl Special Ops Asuka as well as artist Koto (Yōkoso Genkai Shūraku e!) are working on a new manga called Writer x Writer, which centers around anime scriptwriters.
The manga is expected to launch on 24 October in the next issue of Manga Time Kirara Forward.
Fukami has previously worked with Gen Urobuchi to write the scripts for the Psycho-pass anime film and TV anime, but didn’t return for the Psycho-Pass 2 anime sequel.
He’s also written or overseen scripts on anime like School-Live! Yuruyuri Nachu Yachumi!+, Yuruyuri San Hai!, Berserk, and the Resident Evil: Vendetta movie.
Hopefully, the new manga will be an interesting look into an anime scriptwriter’s life, especially if it happens to be in a similar vein to stories like Shirobako.
