Kozue Amano’s manga, Amanchu!/あまんちゅ! will be an animated series come summer next year. If you have no idea about who is this guy, this is the mangaka who gave us the famous slow paced, oh-so-pretty anime series Aria.
machu! focuses on scuba diving and the serene dreamlike world of the undersea, serialized under Comic Blade magazine since 2009. Nine tankubon volumes have been published up to this point.
The director will be Kenichi Kasai who admitted that he knew nothing about scuba diving but he is looking forward to study it closely. He also mentions that the Izu Peninsular will be the main location of the anime series. Chief /Supervising Director will be Junichi Sato (Aria the Animation), series composition is by Deko Akao (Akagami no Shirayuki-Hime), Youko Itou (Love Stage!!) is the character designer and lastly J.C. Staff (Arslan Senki)will be producing the anime series.

The official synopsis of Amanchu!:
“Hikari Kohinata is a cheerful 15-year-old girl who lives near the ocean and she spends much of her time diving as a result. On her first day of high school, she meets a teacher who also likes scuba diving. There’s also a 16-year-old classmate, Futaba, who gets dragged along in Hikari’s maelstrom as soon as they meet at school. Most of the manga so far details the relationship between the two girls, which quickly seems to move into romantic two girl friendship-territory.”
Judging by the first impressions, it looks like another very pretty looking anime, slice-of-life based story with few things going on to move the plot. If Aria is on the water, this time it is underwater.
