Rumours have been floating around over the last few months that Tom Cruise will be in Universal’s The Mummy reboot, and now it looks official.

Universal has confirmed that Cruise would indeed be in the movie, but the film has been delayed. The Mummy reboot was supposed to be coming out in April, which was then pushed to March, and now will be released 9 June 2017 during the summer movie blitz.

There hasn’t been news on what role he will be playing however; but is apparently “play[ing] a major part in development”.

Alex Kurtzman is the director behind The Mummy reboot, with Sofia Boutelle as the flick’s villain; with the movie taking place in a modern setting.

So do you think the reboot will be a hit? let us know in the comments!
