Looks like Sony Pictures is very confident in young actor, Tom Holland as they’re set to build another major franchise around him in addition to Spider-Man Homecoming. Video game fans, it’s time to get your hopes up again, as an Uncharted movie is in the works.

What’s interesting about this movie is that it’s a prequel to the video games and will follow a young Nathan Drake. For someone who doesn’t play the game, that seems like an interesting idea. But I can’t help but wonder if hardcore Uncharted fans are excited or bummed out by this news. I assume fans of the game would have been longing for an adult version of Nathan Drake like in the video game.

According to Deadline, the currently untitled Uncharted movie will be directed by Shawn Levy and is inspired by a sequence in the third iteration of the video game that revolves around the young thief Drake and his first encounter with the professional rogue, Sullivan. Sources said that this new approach to the film was taken by Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman after watching the latest cut of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
