Developers inXile have announced that they’re producing a direct sequel to Wasteland 2, announcing Wasteland 3, which they will be bringing about via crowdfunding on Fig.

They’re hoping to raise $2.75 million to make the game, which is a pretty tall order considering they’re looking to their playerbase to help get it made.

Wasteland 3 will be a party-based RPG, with both an offline and co-op mode that lets you bring a buddy to the post-apocalyptic wastes with you, each of you controlling your own squad of Rangers as you explore the savage lands of frozen Colorado.

Like Wasteland 2, the game will feature tactical turn-based combat and will be story-driven in single player mode. There will also be a newly-revamped dialogue tree system for a more engaging story; thanks to the writers of Torment: Tides of Numenera.
