Street Fighter V resurrection

Machinima, the company behind the Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist live-action series is making another series, as announced by Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono at the end of the Capcom Cup 2015 finals. The new series will be called Street Fighter V: Resurrection, which is due spring 2016.

Street Fighter: Legacy director and writer Joey Ansah helmed Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, launching a Kickstarter campaign for the project in 2013, though he cancelled the crowdfunding project after getting funding from outside sources.

Ansah will be co-writing the script for the new series with Christian Howard, with Jacqueline Quella (Street Fighter: Legacy) to produce the series as well.

The series is a coming of age story for Ryu and Ken (along with appearances by Gōken, Gōki/Akuma, and Gōtetsu) and will be featuring quite a few well known names. Togo Igawa (The Last Samurai, 47 Ronin) will be portraying Gōtetsu with Mike Moh (Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight) as Ryu.

Gōken will be played by Akira Koieyama (Blood: The Last Vampire, 47 Ronin) and young Gōken will be played by Shōgen (Kaiji: The Ultimate Gambler, The Shadow Inside) . Gaku Space (Shake It Up!, How I Met Your Mother) will be portraying young Gōki.

Mark Killeen (Game of Thrones, The Dark Knight Rises) will be Mr. Masters, Ansah and Howard will be Akuma and Ken respectively. Hal Yamanouchi (The Wolverine, Push) will be Senzō.

Machinima is also working on the Street Fighter: World Warrior live action sequel with a potential late 2015 or early 2016 launch.
