With Michael Fassbender’s Assassin’s Creed movie coming out this December, we’d think its a bit too early for the studio to be developing a sequel but apparently they are; and Fassbender is returning to reprise his role.

The movie is set to hit theaters this December with Justin Kurzel and Marion Cotillard starring alongside Fassbender. He plays a character named Callum Lynch, “a man who discovers that he’s the descendant of a secretive society of deadly assassins, who are at war with the Knights Templar. Through a machine, Lynch becomes able to tap into the memories of his ancestor Aguilar, an assassin in 15th century Spain. Commanding his ancestor’s incredible skills, ability, and knowledge, Lynch sets forth to take on the Knights Templar in the present.”

Not too far off from the events of the games except with a brand new character. at the helm.

So far we’re not sure if the director will be back for Assassin’s Creed 2, but the original production team is still on for the ride. These include Jean-Julian Baronnet who produces for Ubisoft Motion Pictures, Frank Marshall for Kennedy-Marshall Company. Fassbender and Conor McCaughan are also producing via their DMC Films production company with Matt Phelps to oversee the project for Ubisoft and Pam Abdy for New Regency.

Assassin’s Creed is set to hit 21 December 2016.
