Marvel has been on a roll over the last couple of years. They’ve produced some of the best superhero movies (the Marvel Cinematic Universe), up the ante for their TV series (Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage), and pushed out some really far-out and interesting new stories on the comic front.
They’ve even made their way to the world of slot games with one of the most popular online slots games on the market, Spider-Man. Looking at the upcoming TV schedule for 2017, Marvel is showing no signs of slowing down.
They recently announced there will be 4 new shows premiering over the course of the year on Netflix and broadcast TV.
1. Iron Fist
Daniel Rand is a crime fighting New Yorker who uses his amazing kung fu skills to help clean up the city’s dirty streets. Of course, he’s aided by his super power, a fiery iron fist that can punch through just about anything. The series picks up after Rand returns to New York after a short hiatus. Netflix announced that the series will premiere in mid-March 2017.
2. The Punisher
Following a strong showing in the Daredevil series, Marvel is developing a stand-alone series for The Punisher. Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle and continues his mission to find those responsible for the murder of his family. While details about the show have been scarce, fans can expect that there will be some brutal violence that we’ve come to know from season 2 of Daredevil.
3. The Defenders
Marvel TV’s New York superheroes will team up in the upcoming series The Defenders. While most details haven’t been released yet, what we do know is The Defenders bring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist together to fight against a common enemy. Netflix has yet to announce a release date, but early indications are that the show will premiere in the fall.
4. The Inhumans
While The Inhumans was initially slated to become a movie, Marvel shocked their fans by announcing that they will be releasing the first two episodes in IMAX theaters and the remaining 6 episodes will air on ABC. The show will follow the story of superhumans and in particular the Inhuman Royal Family. The show has been scheduled to be released in September 2017.
