In a recent issue of Shinchoshas Comic@Bunch magazine, it was revealed that a new upcoming anime Gangsta. is in the works.
Confirmed cast members are Junichi Suwabe (Fate/Stay Night) as Worick Arcangelo, Kenjiro Tsuda (Prince of Tennis) as Nicholas Brown, Ao Yuuki (Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica) as Nina, Tetsuo Kaneo (Yu Yu Hakusho) as Chad Adkins, Mamiko Noto (Kara no Kyokai) as Alex Benedetto, Kaito Ishikawa (Nagi no Asukara) as Cody Balfour and Satoshi Mikami (Mushishi Zoku Shou) as Dr. Theo.
The manga, written and drawn by mangaka Kohske, began its serialisation in 2010 and has so far been compiled into 6 tankubon volumes. No information on the staffing or which animation studio is known so far. At the same time, three drama CDs were produced in conjunction with the anime adaptation announcement.
More updates are to be expected on the anime series on 7 December soon.
The synopsis of Gangsta.:
“In the city of Ergastulum, a shady ville filled with made men and petty thieves, whores on the make and cops on the take, there are some deeds too dirty for even its jaded inhabitants to touch. Enter the “Handymen,” Nic and Worick, who take care of the jobs no one else will handle. Until the day when a cop they know on the force requests their help in taking down a new gang muscling in on the territory of a top Mafia family. It seems like business (and mayhem) as usual, but the Handymen are about to find that this job is a lot more than they bargained for.”
