Update (30 Jan): Finally EA revealed the date of open beta which is 3 February to 8 February 2015. Thanks to the support of the Battlefield community, Heist mode is on for the open beta and another mode of play is introduced: Hacker which allows one on each side to gain access to camera for his/her own respective team.

The Open Beta for Battlefield: Hardline is coming soon according to EA and Visceral Games.

In the post, executive producer and Vice President of Visceral Games and GM Steve Papoutsis conveys his excitement regarding about the coming open beta and thanks to all people who helped with the first one.

The Battlefield Hardline open beta is drawing near, and we’re pumped to let you throw yourselves into the thrills of cops and criminals multiplayer once again,” he wrote. “We learned a ton from you in the first beta, enough to help us make the tough call to push the game back so we could add more and make the game better. And now as we’re getting closer to launch, we want more.

The purpose of the open beta is collect feedback from players for changes and game balancing issues. According to Papoutsis, the developers already taken account of player’s early feedback and have tweaked the game accordingly.

He commented, “We’ve made bigger changes like re-shaping Heist mode, tweaking progression and the UI to name a few. But we’ve also focused on the ‘small” things,'”. For example, he said that visual recoil has been perfected because of the player’s input earlier.

The game is scheduled for 17 March 2015 launch. As for the open beta, it will be available for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Two maps are available at the moment – Downtown and Dust Bowl with two modes – Conquest and Hotwire are in the open beta. Third mode, Heist will be unlocked if the Battlefield 4 community achieved the community’s mission.
