The long tortured, much storied Aaron Sorkin movie, Steve Jobs is finally seeing the light of day and we all got to have a glimpse how this movie might feels like. Directed by Danny Boyle (127 Hours) with casting like Micheal Fassbender (X-Men, Frank) as Jobs himself, Kate Winslet (Divergent, Titanic) as Joanna Hoffman, Seth Rogen (The Interview) as Steve Wozniak and Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber) as John Sculley, the former CEO of Apple. Last but not least, is Makenzie Moss and Perla Haney-Jardine as Lisa Jobs, daughter of Steve Jobs at different ages respectively.
Many A-list Hollywood stars are linked to the role of maverick IT giant such as Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio and apparently the main female role of former Mac marketing honcho Joanna Horrman was rejected by the likes of Natalie Portman (Black Swan, Star Wars) and Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, Interstellar) too.
In contrast to much maligned and criticized Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher traditional biopic path, this film will be centering the narrative on backstage drama surrounding three Apple’s most iconic key product launches – the first Macintosh computer, the NeXT computer, and the original iPod. Sorkin stated that the narrative is not minute by minute recreation of the key product launches but rather depictions of relationship between Lisa and the founder of Apple “when he is not on stage.” Interestingly, the award winning writer said that Lisa is the real hero, not Steve.
The movie is due to hit the cinemas 9 October 2015.
