Nope it isn’t a joke. Well at least we don’t think it is. Seems like Pornhub, purveyors of free porn and one of the most visited site in Malaysia if not the world (don’t lie, we know that’s the first site that pops up when some of you type P in the browser), has decided to get into the wearables market. The device in question is called the Wankband, and how it works is by storing the kinetic energy that is produce while you wank/spank the monkey/rub one out/polish the family jewels/fap etc.
By using the up and down motions all men are familiar with, the Wankband’s built-in kinetic charger will harvest electricity produce by said movements and stores it in a battery. Whatever energy is stored can then be used to charge your device. We did see one problem with this though as considering the size of the Wankband, the amount of energy that can be stored might be negligible even for a mobile phone. Of course, the best solution for that matter is to continue to wank and generate more power.
Now kinetic chargers aren’t a new technology and it’s been around for a really long time. Many traditional watches already use it as a source of power, which works since they don’t need massive amounts of power to function. A mobile phone on the other hand is a different matter. Instead, the Wankband sounds like it’ll be useful in emergency situations, like keeping your phone running when it’s near it’s battery limit while you find a charger.
Of course, despite the name, wanking isn’t the only way you can gather energy. It uses kinetic energy after all so as long as your hands are in a constant state of motion, you should be able to charge it up as well. Great way of marketing it though, especially to the guys. If you want to get your hands on this baby though, there isn’t exactly a working device yet. According to Pornhub, the Wankband is still in its development stages and beta testing phase will commence in a couple of months.
