Ah, looks like Christian Bale decided to walk away from the upcoming Danny Boyle’s still unnamed biopic of Steve Jobs after 2 weeks of negotiations. Looks like Bale prefers dark Gotham than sunny Cupertino.
According to Variety, the talks did not bear any fruit despite strong endorsement of the actor by the award-winning screenwriter, Aaron Sorkin, in a Bloomberg interview.
Sony Pictures is now back to square one looking for main male lead to play as Steve Jobs after Leonardo DiCaprio and Bale’s passing on the job. Seth Rogen (perfect!) is reportedly in discussions to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Producers of the upcoming movie are Scott Rudin (Captain Philips, The Grand Budapest Hotel), Mark Gordon (Grey’s Anatomy, Army Wives) and Guymon Casady (Game of Thrones).
So who next? Matt Damon (hell, no) or perhaps Ben Affleck?
What say you?
