Yes we know it’s just a marketing promo, but we just can’t control ourselves when it comes to Lego

We love our Lego here in THG and we even have the whole set of the Shell Lego models that were promoted out last year… including the case. Well this year, we might be making frequent trips to the local Shell Station again as it seems that a new Lego and Shell tie-up might be on its way to Malaysia.

The new models are a certainty though because the promotion is already going on over at our southern neighbour Singapore’s pump stations. It stands to reason that we shouldn’t have to wait too long before the same promotion hits our shores. After all, last year’s Shell Lego were pretty popular and it didn’t take too long for the models to be snapped up and scalped on various online forums and trade sites.

So what can we expect from this upcoming Shell Lego tie-up? Like the previous tie-up, it’s not just between Shell and Lego but Ferrari as well. As such there will be six different models made available with one special edition model thrown in. They are four Ferrari based cars including Ferrari 250 GTO, the Ferrari 512S, the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and the Ferrari F138 (which looks suspiciously like last years Ferrari F150 Italia). On top of that there are two building models and mini-figs including the Shell Station with mini-fig and Finish Line and Podium with mini-fig. To top it all off, there’s also the special edition Shell Tanker model.

So Shell Malaysia, when's our turn to get these

So our Singapore neighbours can purchase these Shell Ferrari Legos when they fill up with at least SGD60 worth of fuel. There’s a two-tier pricing depending on which fuel they pump with the models going for SGD5.95 when Shell V-Power is pumped or SGD8.95 when either Shell Fuel Save or Shell Diesel is pumped. The special edition Shell Fuel Tanker model however is only available when Shell V-Power is pumped at a SGD10.95 price.

So far we’re not too sure if or when is the promo going to hit Malaysia but we sure hope they do. We’re guessing that if does come over, the price of the models would be similar to what was offered last year, with similar minimum pump value requirements. All we have to do now is wait.
