Your team leaders will now be able to actually do stuff in the upcoming Pokemon Go update, so hopefully this is the first step of the game to giving them proper roles.
So far, team leaders Spark, Candela and Blanche haven’t been more than figureheads for their teams, Instinct, Valor and Mystic.
The new update will bring something called “Implemented Pokemon Appraisal” where either Spark, Candela or Blanche will tell you about your opponent. They’ll elaborate on their defense and attack capabilities, and recommend you one of your Pokemon which has the “most potential” for battle.
The update is already rolling out for Android and iOS devices.
