Professor X retuns! Well, specifically Patrick Stewart returns. The actor revealed today on Twitter that he will be returning to his iconic role for the next film in the Wolverine spin-off series.
Actor Patrick Stewart has revealed that he will be back for the third Wolverine film in a tweet saying simply ‘Worst kept secret.’
The tweet also included the hashtag #Wolverine3 which might be a hint as to the film’s official title. The film is Hugh Jackman’s final outing as the gruff, violent Logan, and also stars Stephen Merchant (The Office, Portal 2) and Boyd Holbrook (Narcos).
The film is coming to theatres March 3 and this tweet by Patrick Stewart might be the beginning of a marketing push – which means brace yourselves: Trailers are coming!
The film is being directed by James Mangold – who directed the franchise’s previous film, 2013’s The Wolverine – and is reportedly based on the Mark Millar comic storyline Old Man Logan, an alternate future in which the X-Men are no more and supervillains rule the earth.
