There’s no shortage of crowdfunding campaigns out there and Malaysians are starting to pick up the platform as a way to get projects up and running. Not too long ago we were talking about a Malaysian made visual novel involving cats called Purrfectly Ever After on KickStarter, and Tales of Pylea is one such home-brewed project.
Tales of Pylea was brought to life as a webcomic, running since 2013 which was single-handedly produced by A. Chow and Christopher Kuok. Now they want to publish their very first book called Tales of Pylea Book 1 : A Hunter’s Patience. The book is set to be about 150+ pages of quality art (read: with generous helpings of muscle and humorous violence) in a digital format.
Granted they aren’t ready to produce an actual physical book as of yet, but this will prove as a valuable stepping stone for the project to do so.
Another one such project created by this team is Par’Dis Only Human, which will be bundled together with A Hunter’s Patience in certain reward tiers. The project still has less than a month to go but has only achieved a little under a quarter of the necessary funding to get off the ground. And even if it doesn’t achieve its goal, at least help them keep the comic going in a bigger capacity, thanks to IndieGogo’s flexible funding.
