4. TMNT IV or TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist
The SNES beat-em-up was a 2-player romp through time with the Turtles, including new levels, never seen before in the arcade version. The Megadrive beat-em-up was a “best of” compilation of past TMNT beat-em-up levels with a few additions of its own like new levels, new bosses, and new beat-em-up engine tweaks.
So which game was better? Both looked and sounded great, and also played just fine and dandy. Countless wars were waged during the 90s over which of the games were superior. Let’s just agree to disagree and say that both landmark games deserve the same spot on this list for being entertaining and two player-friendly beat-em-ups.
