Black Panther CivilWarBlackPanther

Like Spider-Man, T’challa of Wakanda, the Black Panther, was a well established character in the comics well before Civil War began, whereas the movie has to both introduce the character and launch his own film series, staring in 2018.

We know almost nothing about this interpretation of T’Challa, but in the comics, he kept out of the SRA arguments as he was the head of state for a country outside the US (King of Wakanda), and so not bound by US laws. He did later get involved, siding with Captain America in an assault Prison 42 where Stark had been imprisoning captured anti-registration heroes, so it’s quite odd to see T’challa on Tony Stark’s side. The multitude of scenes featuring T’challa and the Winter Soldier probably have something to do with that, but he might still switch sides.
