FOX has been teasing quite a bit about the return to the X-Files series, and they’ve launched two brand new trailers to go along with it.
X-Files Revival will be seeing David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their roles as Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully as they investigate the paranormal. The series will begin with Mulder and Scully taking on the case of a possible alien abduction, with Revival being a mix of stand-alone episodes and those that further the original show’s mythology.
The all-new show will of course see the appearance of guest stars, with some reprising their roles. These include Joel McHale (“Community”), Robbie Amell (“The Flash”), Lauren Ambrose (“Dig,” “Six Feet Under”), Annabeth Gish (“The Bridge”), Annet Mahendru (“The Americans”), Rhys Darby (“Flight of the Conchords”), Kumail Nanjiani (“Silicon Valley”) and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man.”
The trailer itself pretty much shows Mulder being lured back into the biz, but it still doesn’t give us all that much to go on. Previously they have also hinted that our duo will encounter a “hairy beast” in episode 3 and will be investigating a UFO crash site.
The show itself is set to make its comeback to FOX on 24 January 2016.
