Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is out in cinemas now (read our review here) and is littered with Easter eggs and references to the rest of the Star Wars universe. We’ve listed down all the ones we spotted. If we missed any let us know in the comment or tweet @mcnastyprime and @thehypedgeek on Twitter, we’ll add them to the list!
SPOILER ALERT! Pretty obviously this article contains HSPOILERS for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, so DO NOT CLICK if you haven’t watched the movie and you don’t want us to spoil it!
1. Blue Milk Special
At the very beginning of Rogue One, the camera lingers a little too long on a glass of what looks like Blue Milk in the kitchen of the Erso household. This references to the infamous blue milk drank by the Lars and Luke in Episode IV – A New Hope.
2. Scout Trooper Blaster?
We could be reaching here but the blaster held by Jyn Erso looks a lot like the Scout Trooper’s blaster from Episode VI-Return of the Jedi. What do you think?
3. Saw Gerrera
There’s a lot of Rogue One characters that tie the film into the various eras of Star Wars History. One of these is Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) who ties Rogue One nicely into The Clone Wars animated series. In the animated series, a much younger Saw can be seen resisting the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the final years of the Galactic Republic, and he first appeared in the fifth season of the animated series.
4. Yavin 4
The hidden rebel base that Jyn Erso is taken to is Yavin 4, the same base used by the Rebels in Episode IV – A New Hope. Who knows, that might even be the same guard on duty in the lookout bucket!
5. The Ghost from Star Wars Rebels
As the most recent animated series, Star Wars Rebels is still running on TV. Presumably, it’s one of the easiest corners of the Stars Wars Universe to insert references to.
If you look carefully at the top left of the screen during an aerial shot of the Yavin 4 airfield as Jyn and Andor prepare to leave Yavin 4 for Jedha, you can see what appears to be The Ghost from Rebels parked. Of course, it could just be another VCX-100 light freighter
6. Grand Moff Tarkin

Director Krennic’s supervisor who later assumes command of the Death Star from a CG recreation of the actor Peter Cushing, who played Grand Moff Tarkin in Episode IV -A New Hope. Tarkin is CG recreation as Cushing passed away in 1994.
Of course, you should have recognised his foul stench when you were brought on board.
