Johnny Storm Fantastic Four

The legendary Marvel’s creator, Stan Lee speaks up about the controversy surrounding the casting of Micheal B. Jordan (Chornicle) as the Human Torch in the upcoming Fantastic Four.

Some fans of the franchise are riled up with the choice of an Afro-American man instead of “canonical” blond haired and white Johnny Storm. Their anger even forced the actor (Jordan) to penned an open letter addressing the issue. Now the very symbol of Marvel is jumping into the fray during his interview with EW.

I thought it was a great idea! They [the critical fans] are outraged not because of any personal prejudice… They’re outraged because they hate to see any change made on a series and characters they had gotten familiar with. In ‘Spider-Man,’ when they got a new actor, that bothered them, even though it was a white actor. I don’t think it had to do with racial prejudice as much as they don’t like things changed.” He then continues, “”I think they’re gonna get to love this character. So I’m not the least bit worried about it. I always tried to pepper these groups with as much racial diversity as possible because that’s the way the world is.

We shall find out if the skin issue would affect the spirit of the movie on 7 August 2015 soon.
