Hey, we split this 50-50, ya?

Another old character from first trilogy of Star Wars might return for the new one?

Possible, according to Billy Dee Williams who is playing the role of General Lando Calrissian in an interview with Cinelinx.

However, he did not give any more details beyond that tease, perhaps he is still in negotiations with Disney. He added that he is very much aware of a disturbance in the Force when he did not appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens in last year’s announcement. This is his exact quote from the interview:

Yeah, people were pretty upset about it,” Williams said. “But I uh … I may very well … I have a feeling I’m going to show up. There’s nothing I can really discuss about it at this stage.

General Lando had an appearance in Star Wars Rebels not long ago. Perhaps it is a subtle hint of his return to the major trilogy?

People think of me as the original cast,” he muses, “but I didn’t come in until the second movie. I did Empire and then I did Return of the Jedi, but I came in after everyone else was introduced … So I think they’re probably proceeding in that way.”

I can’t imagine them not bringing Lando back. But we’ll see, I don’t know.” he ends it with mixed note.
