4. Batman Returns
After the runaway success of the first big budget Batman film in 1989, of course Warne Bros../DC were going to ask Tim Burton (already a strange choice the first time around ) to return to helm the sequel. What they didn’t expect was Danny De Vito eating raw fish using flippers while wearing a filthy onesie.
Nevertheless, in between the weirdness Burton delivered a very “Christmassy” Dark Knight, with mistletoe, giant deadly Christmas presents and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony all playing key parts in Michael Keaton’s second outing as Bruce Wayne in a Gotham coated in snow and reflected through the dark mirror of Burton’s imagination.
What must Christmas be like around his house? (actually just take a look at the next entry to get an idea).
