Following an announcement from Hasbro that there will be another four Transformers films following Age of Extinction, Michael Bay is back to direct Transformers 5.
Set to hit theaters in 2017, it makes sense for Michael Bay to be picking up Transformers 5; as he’s also directed the previous four installments of the franchise.
But he did mention that he wants this to be his final film within the series, so someone will have to pick up for the next three movies.
“It’s time to move on,” he told Rolling Stone. “One more.”
There are other ripples happening within the franchise as well, as Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead is now joining the the production crew. They will be cofusing on a unified Transformers movie universe, especially with the extra films coming along on top of an animated origin story.
Do you think Bay will make this his last big bang for the franchise? let us know in the comments!
